EMI Microwave | Frequency Converters

Overview

EMI offers a wide variety of frequency converters for defense applications.  The product line includes receiver/down converters, transmitter/up converters, an integrated transceiver, and multiplier modules.

The products can be ordered for specific MW, mmW (up to 50GHz), IF and RF frequencies, as per customer specification.

The following are some examples of delivered custom modules, demonstrating our rich expertise.

Multipliers
Active Frequency Quadruple Module: A multiplier, that converts the input signal from the X-band frequency to Ka-band. It accepts low power input signal, and has two outputs, one of which is logically switched.

Active Multiplier X81: A multiplier that accepts input signal from 103.5MHz – 110MHz, and multiplies the signal by 81 to reach output signal at the frequency range of 8.38GHz – 8.88GHz. It has two outputs, of which is logically switched. The module demonstrates an outstanding phase noise floor at output of -125 dBc/Hz.

HF Converter: The module receives two inputs.  The narrowband signal, in the 1.5MHz–30MHz frequency range, is routed directly to the output. The frequency of the other input, the wideband signal, is converted from 13.0MHz to 41.5MHz.  After mixing both signals, the output signal is filtered by BPF, and is processed by Digitally Controlled Compensation algorithm.

VUP Converter: The converter module accepts an input signal in the frequency range of 65MHz-155MHz.  Based on user inputs, the signal can be up-converted or down-converted, resulting in a signal in the 20MHz–1040MHz frequency range.
